SWIM MEET VOLUNTEERS
|CSRC Swim Team Parents – below please find your volunteer signups for this season.
Each Swim Team family needs to sign up for the equivalent of 2 full meets. Exceptions include families with Shrimps only, and families with volunteers serving at multiple meets, such as t-shirts/swim caps, meet computer operators, or volunteer coordinators. Shrimp parents will be assisting with the end-of-season banquet, which we hope to bring back this year following our last regular season meet. More info. on that to follow in the coming weeks.
Volunteer positions are broken down by meet sessions, and we anticipate having 2 sessions for each meet. So once your family has volunteered for four (4) sessions, you’re done. And volunteering can be split between parents in any fashion you desire, and can be spread among any meets you wish. Or the sessions could even be done concurrently.
We suggest that veteran swim parents try to fill roles critical to the efficient operation of the meet, like Clerk of Course and Head Timer (which are for our HOME meets). New parents can help with most positions, such as parking, assistant clerk of course, runners, timers, and floaters. Stroke Judges should have previously experience or training in that position.
NOTE – all volunteer positions at meets that are not pool-side typically allow parents to break away momentarily to watch their children swim in their events. We just ask that everyone be conscientious of their fellow volunteers in doing so, and communicate accordingly.
